Project description
The project involved a comprehensive modernization of the existing driver's restaurant aboard the M/F Robin Hood and M/F Nils Dacke ferries, along with the conversion of a storage area into additional dining space. Our team was tasked with revitalizing the restaurant's ambiance, extending its capacity, and enhancing its functionality to better serve its clientele.
The project was completed on time, thanks to our team's dedication and our ability to adapt swiftly to unforeseen challenges. The revamped driver's restaurant and the new additional dining area have received positive feedback from clients and passengers alike, praising the enhanced dining experience and the thoughtful inclusion of a children's play area. The success of this project stands as a testament to our team's skill in balancing operational demands with ambitious design and renovation goals.
Problem to Solve
The primary challenge was to maintain uninterrupted service in the driver's restaurant while executing significant structural changes and aesthetic upgrades. This required meticulous planning and execution to ensure that the restaurant could continue to accommodate drivers without compromising the quality of service during the renovation period.
Solution
Our approach was to segment the renovation work into phases, allowing one part of the restaurant to remain operational while work was conducted in another. This strategic phasing, combined with extended working hours and precise scheduling, ensured the continuous operation of the dining facilities.
To achieve the project's ambitious goals within the 14-day timeframe, we leveraged our extensive network of suppliers and contractors to source high-quality materials and furnishings rapidly. Our experienced team undertook the installation of new flooring, wall coverings, "soft seating" furniture, carpets, lighting, artworks, and the outfitting of a multifunctional reception area. Additionally, a separate play area for children was created, featuring engaging and safe equipment, further enhancing the family-friendly appeal of the restaurant.
The transformation also involved technical challenges, such as the integration of the storage space into the restaurant. This required structural modifications, including the installation of new partitions and the adaptation of existing utility systems to accommodate the expanded area.
